[C320-list] Transmission Replacement- Perkins M30 Engine

Paul,

I had low power from the prop going forward, but had plenty of power in reverse.

I went under the boat two weeks ago and cleaned the bottom and the prop. I have a Two blade feathering (martec) prop that is adjustable for pitch. The prop was in good shape and function correctly.

When running the boat there is no unusual vibration and I have the normal power in reverse, so I do not believe that the prop is damaged or fouled. The only thing that could be related to the prop is if the pitch setting changed for forward, but this seems to be unlikely ( still need to check though).

The shift on the transmission appears to be moved into forward correctly.

Jim

Jim, can you share the reasons you think you need a new transmission?

i All,
The first trip of the year didn't go to well, as it appears that I may have
ransmission issues. I still need to check a few things and hopfully it is a
imple fix, like a minor adjustment on the shift cable.
But incase it is not, If anyone who has the Perkins M30 engine had the
ransmission replaced, could you please give me the make/model of the new
ransmision that was used as well as cost and installation costs, this would
ive me a better idea of what to expect.
I remember there was some disscussion a while ago concerning replacing a
ransmission but I don't think it was on the perkins.

hanks in advance
