I simply use 2 band wrenches and skip the hammer. :)
They also work for the raw water strainer, water tank caps, etc.
I keep them in the tiny padded seat storage area in the aft cabin. ...along with my stuffing box wrenches, and other tools needed for quick access engine work.

Does anyone know of a tool for removing the ring nut holding the secondary
filter can onto the engine? It has been suggested that I use a srewdriver
placed in one of the slots and give it a shot with a hammer. I'm sure the
pros don't do it that way!
