[C320-list] Settee Table

I was going to use the round tops from Lowes/Home depot but they didn't really have a size that worked for me. They come in 12" 18" and 36" I think. They also have edge glued aspen in many sizes. I started with one that was 18" wide and 36" long. I cut it down to 30" length, rounded the corners, routed a rounded edge all around, stained the wood and put on a couple of coats of gloss urethane and it works pretty well. Don't center the top over the support pedestal because the table won't fit well to the settee. Just lay the top on the pedestal and move it around until you like the look and useability and screw it in. I probably have less than $30 in the whole thing. At some point, I may buy a fancier top from damaged merchandise at Nebraska Furniture mart, but for now, the home made one is fine.

I want to do the same but can't find a suitable small table. Any suggestions
for sources?

I don't convert my settee table for sleeping room so I removed it and put
in a smaller solid wood table top. It really opens things up below and there
is still plenty of room to dine.
