[C320-list] Nav Station

Jeff, I left my camera in PA and won't get it back until Thanksgiving or I'd
take some pictures. Our PO added a number of fixed dividers in the nav
table and they work well for me. The dividers aren't as high as the sides
of the table, and that allow me to lay our chart book over the dividers and
the lid still closes. Our charts are in a book of about 80 pages about
12x20" (just charts of the Chesapeake sold as a book,) and this fits in the
table. I added a mechanical spring that props open the lid; and, folds up
with a quick push. It's a dream and cost very little.

If it will be of any help, I'll take some pictures after I get my camera
back.

There are two large compartments and several smaller ones. In one large I
keep a divider box with some small parts, wire ties, sand paper, etc. The
other large holds our cruising guides and other documents. Smaller sections
hold:
Small batteries for phones, gps, fans, spare keys, ect
	Cards and small games
Tools (multi-screwdriver, meter, several pliers, diag cutter, etc.)
Misc. (deck key, boat key, mast slide wrench, and stuff)

As for the overhead shelf, I'm taller than you (I think,) and it's not a
problem. Maybe it has to do with placement. I added the shelf myself.
Bought it from catalina and used another 320 to determine the placement.
The only thing we did was add a stem glass rack on the underside - very
useful.

As for a tool drawer, I find all the tools I need fit in a small divider. I
do have more tools in three other places. Works for me.

Our boat is on land, covered and sleeping until May.

We removed the Nav station desk and I'm going to make a few modifications
over the winter. Seeing as charts don't fit in the chart table, we keep our
charts under the port cushions. While we have bins to keep it from becoming
a junk hole, it's still a junk hole. I'm going to add real adjustable
dividers to organize the space.

I'm thinking about adding a shallow tool drawer for the few things I'm
always needing to grab in a hurry.

Anyone done anything like this?

Has anyone modified the over-sink storage shelf (the one I bang my head on
all season)?
