[C320-list] Salon table removal

I'm trying to remove the salon table top and support pole from the base. The base is screwed into the floor from which there is a six inch riser pipe. At the top of the riser pipe there is a full 360 degree collar. The collar accepts a threaded set screw which appears to steady/lock a slightly smaller diameter riser of 2 feet in length. The top of this riser is attached to a flange which is screwed into the bottom of the table top. The brand name on the hardware is "ZWAARDVIS". (no kidding, a picture is worth a thousnad words, or in my case exactly 88 words).

Sooooo. how does the darn thing come apart? I've loosened (even removed) the set screw and all that accomplishes is to allow the top riser to wobble and slightly rotate, constrained by the mast compression post and table to cut out. I am unable to pull the top riser out of the collar / lower riser assembly. What is the secret??
