Jon,

I ordered the new elbow from Catalina and they wrapped it before
shipping it. This is included in the price. I think it is good insurance
from getting burned when working around the motor. It may also
reduce heat in the engine compartment. Without being wrapped,
it is really really hot.

Subject: [C320-list] Question on Insulation for Exhuast Elbow

I'm working with Warren Pandy on replacing my exhaust elbow. I have the
'custom' version on my Yanmar 3GM30. My question for anyone who has done
this is where did you get the insulation for the elbow, and is it really
necessary? I've seen several elbows on other boats without this type of
insulation so I'm wondering if I need to go through the trouble of
rewrapping? Thanks in advance.
