[C320-list] Gori Propellers

Hi Tony,

It's a good propeller when motoring, very good when motor-sailing because of overdrive mode, and great under sail because it has very little drag.

It has as much power in reverse as forward because of the way the blades fold out.

Its pretty expensive, and has been a little difficult ensuring that Gori sells you the proper pitched blades for your engine/transmission combination.

We can now sail along at several knots in light air when we would have had trouble making any headway speed at all with our previous 3 blade fixed.

The best cure for barnies on the prop is to use the prop. If it sits it'll grow
tuff. Maybe run the engine in gear, fwd and back for a few minutes every time
ou're at the boat.
We had lots of prop barnies this year. Never had an issue in the past. Must be
he unusually warm water this year in the northeast US.
Anything that doesn't form a good bond with the metal will wear off within a few
ours of motoring. I grease the gears on my Gori 3-blade folding prop with
hick marine gear grease and the gears are *totally* free of grease when I haul
mos later, and they are fairly protected. I find it hard to believe that
nything would stick to the blades themselves for long unless it had a great
ond to the metal.
My opinions of course.

I used to have one zinc, but it was usually mostly gone at haulout so
went to two. No paint or anything else. Sounds like Paul has a
ood idea, though.

Clean the shaft and prop and then just before going
in the water I smear it on. I think it is the Zinc Oxide
that makes it work. For $2.50 it gets the job done for
me. Of course my boat is only in the water six months
 each year.

Check at your local drugstore in the baby products isle.

 Joe:

I use nothing on my prop. Do you have zinc(s) on your propshaft? I
 have two on
mine and have perhaps two or three barnacles on the prop and shaft
 at fall
 haulout.
My boat summers in NH, ME, MA waters; if you're in warmer waters
 that may be
 part of your issue.
