[C320-list] Salon Small Opening Hatch Gaskets and Changing Salon Light Bulbs

I just replaced two of the four this past spring. If you are replacing due
to leaks, you may want to try recaulking the horizontal slots on each side
of the portlight. This is more than likely where the leak is coming from. I
went through the hassle to replace two of the gaskets on one side and
recaulking those slots. On the other side I left the gaskets alone and just
recaulked the slots--no leaks.

To remove the gaskets, simply pull on them. They are siliconed in place.
This leads to the difficulty of putting new ones in. You have to remove all
of that old silicone from the slot around the port light. Very tedius and
time consuming. I ordered new gaskets from Lewmar and fit them into place. I
found the corners very difficult to keep in place--If you would like more
detail, I will be happy to provide, but I will say it was one of my least
enjoyable projects and it turns out the gaskets were not the problem.....

Subject: [C320-list] Salon Small Opening Hatch Gaskets and Changing Salon
Light Bulbs

1. I'm planning to change the gasket on the port-side small opening
hatch. Does anyone have any advice on the best way to remove the old gasket
and install the new one?

2. I also need to change the light bulb in one of the salon lights. I
can't quite tell how to remove the cover/housing (unscrew, pull off, other?)
and don't want to force it. Any advice? I have seen some discussions on
the bulb itself (12V halogen?), but if someone could confirm that, I'd
appreciate it.

Thanks,
