This may not have anything to do with your problem but I had mystery water showing up in the bilge also (hull #1146). I was almost convinced that it was the water heater because when you ran your hand under the flooring in areas where you can't see, it was wet between the water heater and the aft inspection floor plate where the water tank shutoff/drain valves are. What I discovered after hours of frustrating tests, was that my mystery water only showed up when the air conditioner was running. If I used my shop vac to dry out all the bilges, they would stay bone dry for weeks until I turned on the AC. Water from the AC, whether condensate or a raw water leak, spreads out under all kinds of areas especially when the boat has been healing and it takes a while for all the water to work its way to the bilge. One of the areas where it seemed to pond was was between the galley sink and the aforementioned inspection plate.
Good Luck
Bill

Hi Herb,
The black hose does leak, but not much 500mm. in 2 weeks. (have a small tub
under it) However, still get water in the bilge even with the tub under the
black hose.
Have put paper towelling under the main heater and also the clear hose on
the sink/bin door side. Both areas get wet.
Best Regards
David .Hull #1162.

David,
Check the black hose connector located behind the tank, a notorious cause of
leaks on this boat, I have replace mine twice. If you hear the water pump
pulse every few minutes and the area under the galley sink is wet I bet that
is it. Reach up from the access panel on the back side of the sink enclosure
to see if wet, place some paper toweling under that area to watch for drops.
If confirmed I'll let you know how I fixed mine.

Hi Ron,
Thanks.
My boat is 1.5yrs.old and has had this leak since day 1.
However, the Catalina agent is not doing much of a job of finding and fixing
the leak.
I have pinpointed it down to the area of the hot water tank which is located
under the galley sink.
By the way where is your boat kept? Mine is in Melbourne.
Best Regards

Hey David
I'm 1150 and same problem...
I have had it checked out and on mine we have determined that it comes from
the junction box (we think) aft of inspection access on floor outside
toilet.
I'm getting the black hose joiner fittings there replaced..
I'll let you know how I go.
By the way. depending on delivery it should still be under Catalina 2 year

Hi ,
Does anyone know the manufacturer and type of water heater in a 2008
Catalina?
Hull No. 1162.
I have had a water leak (going into the bilge in the vessel since new and
now think it may be coming from the water heater.
Would like to ask the manufacturer how to pressure test it.
Thanks David. Hull# 1162.
