I had the same problem. Top step split in two port to starboard as well. First I had to bend ss ladder frame supports under ladder back into position. Then used wood glue on step, while step was off I refinished it. This repair did not last through the first sail.
The cause of the problem is that the ss frame supports were not long enough to support the step properly.
I had ss extensions welded to the frame under the step. I also called Catalina for a replacement wood step. They did not have any on hand so they sent me to the company that does their wood work. They did not have one on hand either at the time. This happened about 5 years ago. My rigger said he could try and epoxy the step back together so I let him give it a try. The epoxy has held up for the last 5 years.
I would like to know if replacement steps are available now.

Same thing happened to me. Middle step split port to starboard. Haven't fixed it
et. Nice to know that spares might be available if I can't find a
ost-effective way to permanently repair it.

CA had spares for $100. I opted to repair by placing an aluminum plate
between the step and the frame. It's been good for 5 years. Since 320 now
made in Fl, call there first.

We were out for a nice bay sail with friends last w/e. As i went to sheet in
the mainsail, I stepped on the top companionway step which broke as I came
down on it. I'd like to replace it, sooner rather than later. My wife, whom
I love dearly and has a great sense of humor, has taken to doing the
elephant trumpeting sound whenever I come down the companionway ladder... So
where do I get the wooden companionway step? Thanks in advance.
