[C320-list] CHANGING HELM WHEEL

I'm in the process of changing out the original wheel for a LEWMAR folding one. In the process I've found that the Raymarine spoke clamps for the autohelm are too small for the new wheel(old one was an Edson). Raymaring have clamp kits for $25 each and you need 3 of them. I'm thinking of using some strips of inner tubing to grip the spokes; anything else?
