Bob, I may have been involved with the thread you mentioned.  It was Hodges
and the deal was $285 bundled with a remote display.  I'm surprised they are
not even listing the unit.  Give them a call.  Not everything on the
internet is necessarily current or accurate. Manufactures offers change
often.  $290 is a reasonable price for the charger without special offers.

A previous thread had recommended hodgesmarine.com as a reputable supplier
for the Xantrex Truecharge 2 40A battery charger.  Went to their website
today and the item does not seem to be listed.  


A google search offered three sources with prices around 290, each with
slightly different shipping charges.  The 3 companies that I have found,
thus far, include:  


starmarinedepot.com
boatersland.com
boatfix.com


Anyone ever work with any of these outfits?  Any words of warning or advice
would be appreciated
