Bruce,
Are your sure your gage is accurate? Sensor is accurate. Maybe one of
those laser temperature probes would be good. You could see if it agrees
with the sensor.
Otherwise you can heat the thermometer in a sauspan and see wha temperature
it opens up at.

My 2007 Yanmar 3YM30 normal operating temperature is 155 degrees. Sounds
like you have a faulty thermostat.
