I think you would be better off buying 120vAC strings of LEDs and using a
small inverter.
Best deal I found was Big Lots....
http://www.biglots.com/browseItem/lights/4977 (These were $10 last week).
120 bulbs spanning 32' at 4.8w. Nice and bright.
You could run up the forestay, down the back stay and down both lifelines
with 5 boxes consuming 24w.
