[C320-list] Water in the Bildge

The other likely culprit is a leak in the water system. If your pump is
cycling then it is not holding the pressure. The most likely place to check
is the hot water tank. Put some paper towels around the base in the front of
the water heater and see if you are getting water. I assume you turn on your
fresh water pump when you arrive at the boat on Fridays--which would explain
why you don't think your getting water during the week. I had this problem
last season and it turned out to be a leak in both the hot water drain
spigot and a pin hole in the aluminum tank...had to replace the tank....good
luck

Subject: [C320-list] Water in the Bildge

Hello all,

I have an interesting issue going on and I'm not sure what is
happening. On the weekends that we spend on the boat I seem to be
getting some fresh water in the bilge. This is evidenced by the bilge
pump kicking in at really annoying times like while I'm sleeping. The
strange thing is that it only seems to be happening on the weekend.
The reason I believe this is that when I got down to the boat on
Friday night there was a nice layer of scum on top of the bilge water
(Another issue on to itself) and it was clear that it hadn't been
disturbed by water running in all week and the sides of the bildge
were dry.

Yesterday when I heard the pump kick in we were about to leave I
pulled the boards and it was clear that there had been more water in
there. It looks like the water is coming into the bildge from the
direction of the bathroom. There is a channel between the floor and
the hull leading up that way that was wet. Now I've check every
source of water via through hull or fitting and nothing appears to be
leaking. I do have a traditional stuffing box so I do get some water
in that way but this water seems to be fresh or at least I can't taste
any salt. I initally thought it was my aft water tank but that tank
seems to be holding water just fine.

The only difference I can find/think of is that that last two weekends
is the first time we've used the air conditioning. Could I be
building up condensentation some place witch is running into the
bildge.

Thoughts?

Jason
