If you observe the track (at least the track I bought) there already exists
counter sunk holes for the expected screw heads. Any issue of shear and
loosening aside, I am not sure you would get the seat you want in the rivet
head if the attachment point is thru one of these holes. I ended up drilling
and tapping.

I am not saying NO, as I lack the experience to advise.
