[C320-list] Black Exhaust smoke

Peter,

If you are in the water, you may want to check to see if your prop is
fouled. Black smoke can be caused by an overpitched prop--however a heavily
fouled prop will emulate this and result in black smoke. Do you get black
smoke and loss of high revs while in neutral or only when there is load?

Subject: [C320-list] Black Exhaust smoke

We are experiencing black exhaust smoke, and a loss of high revs with our
3YM 30 Yamaha motor.
We have only done about 250 hours, the motor is well maintained, boat is
only 4 years.
Any suggestions of the cause and remedy.
