Thanks to all that responded, I did go withe the Sampson XLS Extra T. The real surprise was that it was on sale $1.19/ft at Defender which is a really great price. Several places were pushing me toward VGC hybrid, but because you can't cut it with a line burner I was reluctant. My wife bought me a real high end model for Christmas, I have been going nuts burning a sealing every line I can get my hands on, the device is fantastic.
I like to shorten all lines by about 6" the beginning of every season. My line burner really makes this job a breeze.
One other comment. I really prefer to purchase from Defender rather than WM. WM prices are usually higher, I have to pay MD tax, hate that, and WM seems to never have what I need on hand. Last year I purchased a Garmin GPS Map 740 when it first came out. I only purchased it from WM because I thought I receive it faster, a week later when I checked they told me they had no idea when it would arrive, to keep checking. I called Defender, in stock, received two days later. I cancelled the order with WM, two weeks later I received a call from them that the item was in and ready for pickup.

Herb,
I've only replaced my mainsail halyard to date, but I used Samson XLS Extra
T Double Braid (last year replacement). 24 Strand braided polyester cover
with braided core made of blend of MFP and SK-60 Dyneema. 1.0% stretch at
20% break strength. I am not a racer. Purchased from Defender. Selected it
from Samson chart.....see the current Defender (2011) catalog. It has a
recommendation chart for Samson. I've been happy so far.

I did all of mine around that same time. I can't remember exactly who I
ordered from and it may have been Defender, but I did also order shackles,
etc. When my stuff came in it came from Fisheries Supply in Seattle
(They're not who I ordered from.) Since then, I've ordered a lot of stuff
directly from Fisheries Supply, and they do a good job.

Thanks Chuck,
This does not seem to be a popular request, should have named it battery
replacement, or battery recharger.

Herb - I bought halyards from Defender.com three years ago. I also
purchased new shackles and had them put an eye in one end and a reeving eye
in the other end. I specified Samson XLS extra which is a very reasonably
priced low stretch line. At that time the cost was $1.21/ft plus $33 for
the splicing and $11.99 for a headboard shackle. Both the main and jib
halyard were 117 ft. long.
