[C320-list] jam cleat replacement

Another approach is to just lop off a foot from one end so that the sheet
bears against friction points at a different location. This avoids the
effort of swapping ends. Some skippers routinely do this every few years.

My mainsheet is showing some wear where in the area where it most commonly
locks into the jam cleat. My plan for next spring is to re-reeve the sheet
and swap ends. This should get me a few more years with fresh line in the
cleat.

Thanks, Warren. Given all the comments, I'm wondering if my first step is
to
wash the mainsheet. It doesn't seem to hold well currently.

I've had it release while furling the main in heavy winds.... not a fun
thing!

Thanks for the advice!

Fred
