[C320-list] Messenger line suggestions....

What specific purpose do you have for them? If it's for keeping your
halyards out of the weather during the winter, here's what I do.

I tie the end of the topping lift to the end of Main halyard and make the
knot fairly good sized. (Do the same for the Genoa/Spin halyards).

>From Home Depot, I buy a 100' bag of nylon rope. Maybe it's 3/16" braided
or something like that for ~$5. I one end to the main halyard knot and pull
the halyards down until the knot is snug at the top of the mast. Then I tie
the other end of that cord to the Genoa/Spin halyard knot and haul those
lines down. Cut the cord if you like. I usually tie one off to a cleat on
the lower aft shroud and the other to a cleat on the forward lower cleat and
snug them up so they don't whip around.

Been doing this since 2001 with great results. I tend to use a new line
each year, and recycle the old one for tying the cover laces down..

Subject: [C320-list] Messenger line suggestions....

Wondering if anyone has suggestions on where to get messenger lines for
halyards that have a diameter large enough to not jump the sheaves, yet
inexpensive? In the past I have saved my old halyards and used those, but
when I traded boats I ended up getting rid of them. Thanks in advance.
