Jeff,
According to Torresen.com if my engine serial number starts with an 'E' I have a
European engine, and mine does. So they are saying the engine model number is
3GM30FYEU, for a European version. My old pump uses an o-ring instead of a
gasket and the pump has no add- on elbows or a screw-in cam. Does this sound
like the pump you bought ? If so where did you buy it ?
Torreson lists 2 pumps when you pull up the parts listings for 3GM30FYEU:
128397-42500 $237
128377-42500 $250
Just to complicate the process they don't have any pictures to narrow the
search.
Mike

I paid ~$175 through my local yanmar dealer. But this is for a 3GM30F European
pump. You have the Japanese version. If it's alot more money for that model I
would investigate upgrading to the model found on the euro model since it uses
an O-ring instead of paper gasket for the cover seal. They look compatible.

Don,
I am looking for a replacement myself for a Yanmar 3GM30F. Couple of people
have recommended Torresen.com for Johnson pumps. Mine appears to run about
$250, but I'm not sure because my pump has no model number on it.
The rebuild kit runs about $100 but requires you to press bearings onto the
shaft. Don't know how tough that would be.

Had to replace a raw water pump this weekend. I think the seal went south. Is it
difficult and worth it to rebuild a Johnson pump from a Yanmar 3YM30?
