Just one more thing to add to the conversation: Any time you are using the generator on the boat have a working CO detector below decks. The I have a Honda 2000 and it runs everything except my a/c (the cooling water pump is too big) but I did have one bad situation two years ago while anchored out. There was zero wind and I sucked exhaust fumes into the cabin. The detector scared the heck out of me, but it did its job.

To answer the other part of your question, it works great and is very quiet.  My only complaint is, at 44 lbs, it's a load to lift out of the lazarrette.  If you can live with the lesser output, the 1000iS is only 27 lbs and is rated at 900 watts.  With starting loads peaking higher, I'm not sure this is enough to run a microwave.  The  EF2000iS does it beautifully.
