"Summer Sailstice 2012 We're inviting the whole world sailing for one weekend in 2012. 

Wherever you are, however you sail. Pass on the following invitation to your club, class, members or sailing association: Summer Sailstice Calendar Announcement Celebrate the Twelfth Annual Summer Sailstice - June 23/24, 2012 Sail, race, cruise wherever you sail and join sailors worldwide in the 12th annual Summer Sailstice celebration of sailing on the weekend of June 23/24 - the longest sailing weekend days of the year.  Begun in 2001, Summer Sailstice was created as a holiday uniting sailors in a global sailing festival on the weekend closest to the summer solstice.  To participate sailors need to simply sign up at www.summersailstice.com and then go sailing on the weekend of June 23/24.  The website allows you to post your sailing plans, create and promote a sailing event, invite others or see what other sailors are doing in your area. You can host a club open house, arrange a cruising rendezvous, hold a race or whatever you like for the Sailstice
 holiday. By signing up you're also eligible to win prizes such as a one-week BVI charter with the Footloose Sailing Charters, a Hobie Kayak and over 400 other sailing prizes.  Sign up early and plan to get together with friends and family to celebrate life under sail on June 23/24.   When signing up sailors are also encouraged to 'check the box' to pledge funds to Sailors for the Sea for every mile sailed on Summer Sailstice.
