[C320-list] PROP SHAFT

Brian,

Back when I was doing this I first tried to get one from Catalina Direct.
Big mistake. Expensive and they said it would be somewhere between 6-12
weeks for delivery so I cancelled my order on the spot !!!

Deep Blue Yacht Supply did a great job machining the shafts. They were
shipped in a rugged tube and looked too pretty to put in the water. :-)

There were a couple choices of Stainless available. After a bit of research
I concluded A-22 wasn't needed for our boat so I chose the Aqualoy-19
Stainless Propeller "Shaft A_19" - 55" x 1" -> Single Taper

We ordered and installed TWO 1" x 55" shafts in TWO Catalina 320s. Hull
#809 and Hull #447. Your hull falls between these, so I'm guessing that
this would fit perfectly.

I just went there and when you fill out their form and submit, it shows you
this info (the prices have increased ~$35 over the past 6 years).

Aqualoy 19
==========
This is a nitrogen strengthened Type 304 stainless steel. Corrosion
resistance is superior to Type 304 and better than Aqualoy 17. Aqualoy 19
shafts have been proven to be successful in several types of boats including
sports fisherman and pleasure crafts.

Model Number: SHAFT A-19
Diameter: 1" x Length: 55"
Taper:  Single Taper
Availability: In Stock, 3-4 days to machine
Price: $263.03 * included keys, nuts, and cotter pin

Aqualoy 22
=========
This stainless steel shaft provides the best combination of corrosion
resistance and strength for marine applications for diameters 2 inches and
under. It the ideal fit for pleasure craft because of its ability to resist
corrosion when sitting idle in seawater for long periods of time.

Model Number:  SHAFT A-22
Diameter:  1" x Length: 55"
Taper: Single Taper
Availability: In Stock, 3-4 days to machine
Price: $319.03 * included keys, nuts, and cotter pin

Good Luck and don't forget to order a new cutlass bearing at the same time
since it's relatively cheap and you'll have to remove it anyway. Might as
well put a new one back in.

Jeff,

You quote $227.90 for a stainless prop shaft. Where did you get that price
from? I am currently in the process of replacing my bronz shaft with
stainless steel on our 1999 320 (hull 608) and the best price I can find is
$320 from Catalina Direct. Thanks for your help.
