[C320-list] FLYBACK 20-3 Boat Anchor

I came very close to choosing an Iota unit. Technically, and feature based
it looks very good. The only reason I did not was I was reluctant to
install it in a marine environment.

All this trashing of the Pro Mariner is completely unnecessary. After all,
it is the absolute best battery cooker on the market. (grin!)

We just replaced a perfectly good Xantrex 20 (let me know if interested in
buying it) with an Iota DLS 55 amp charger. This is the one they use in
RV's. You just need to make sure it is in a very dry location (mine is in
the port locker as far forward as I could get it, where the 3 Pro Mariners
and the 1 Xantrex I had were).

Herb-On my hull 894 I went through 2 Pro Mariner's with the first one on
partial warranty and the second one on full warranty. Instead of following
up on the second's warranty, I did the over the bow thing like a previous
poster Colin Evans did and then put in a Xantrex 20 a few years ago. I see
that Pro Mariner now has upgraded their line up to include more high tech
chargers similar to Xantrex.

It would be interesting to see if Pro Mariner has really improved their line

of chargers, but I would need to see a Practical Sailor evaluation or
equivalent to confirm this.
