I also have the 94 and had had several of the motor mount lock washers break. Two of the nut were about 1/4" loose. I have replaced the washers and lock the nut down and it did smooth out the engine a little. Most of these old diesel vibrate at low RPM they like to be run under a load. Good Luck. Alan
I have to have a 94 with the Perkins with about 850 hrs on it.
When at idle or low RPMs when in gear my Perkins vibrates alot. I know that
other Perkins owners have talked about the same issue in this forum.
Did the new isolators help with or eliminate the vibration.
Thanks

Subject: [C320-list] Perkins M30 motor mounts
Someone recently asked about replacing Perkins M30 motor mounts. Torresen
arine (well respected shop on Lake Michigan in Muskegeon MI) replaced last
ummer the mounts on 1994 hull 67 after 975 hours. One had failed and the other
hree were very worn. The price was about about an even grand - $360 labor
approximately 4 hours) and $625 for the four mounts (UNIVERSAL 303062). This
art is known as an 'isolator' in Universal speak, not motor mount. Also, the
erkins engine requires an isolator with an unusual diameter stud. It literally
ook Torresen more time to locate the mounts than do the actual install.
nterestingly (and contrary to general wisdom), the front and rear mounts are
he same (I questioned this and Torresen says this is correct when using this
articular isolator). Hope this helps. Alan Hull 67 Holland MI
