Yes.  Many of us have started using LED lighting.

It really saves on the battery consumption, provides good lighting (choose 
your "color" properly and you will be fine....), and generates much less 
heat...

I will repost the "Warren Report" on LED lighting, and ,as he has you same 
year boat, it should serve you well.
