All this discussion is pretty interesting.  Being in the software
development field for many years I am well aware of how forums work and
the maintenance required to keep them running.  Not to mention you need
a moderator and a someone to keep the SPAM out, which is why some are
password protected.

 

I like the email approach in that it is simple and effective, especially
when it is augmented with the ability to not be a member of the email
list yet still have access to it's contents.  This is what I do.  It
solves the problem that many have mentioned concerning the email clutter
and allows me to view the discussions at any time and any place via the
web.

 

I use this link to view and search the list.

It provides a simple way to do searches and access to the daily
discussions.

 

Many thanks to Jeff and all the others who have worked hard to set this
