[C320-list] Blockage in head sump pump hose

I would make certain that the thru hull fitting is open. Next
step is to take the hose off and turn on the pump to make certain
the hose is not blocked. Next make sure the Y valve is moved
all the way to the shower sump position. You should also pour
some water into the fridge drain and try pumping that out. If
these things check out, then the thru hull fitting is either blocked
or broken.

Subject: [C320-list] Blockage in head sump pump hose

I noticed that water was not draining out of the head water collection
basin in the floor and found that the pump was operating. Once I put more
water in the floor basin, the pump blew the outbound hose connection off
the pump. The water quickly drained into the bilge. I took the backflow
filter apart, thinking it was filled, but that was clean. I reconnected the
hose and pumped more water. This time I noticed that spray was coming out
of the syphon preventer--the more I lossend the cap, the more water sprayed
out. So, the blockage is on the outbound side of the syphon.

What could cause this blockage and how can I clear the hose? Should I
expect dead animals?
