That's right Bruce same oil for gearbox. Don't overfill it.

I was told that my Yanmar 3YM30 'monograde' diesel engine oil is also the
same oil Yanmar specifies for the gear box.
Regarding the sound insulation: check on-line Chanderly's for the price of
a large sheet. I used 1".
