Try lifting and dropping the boom as well.

Happens occasionally. I suggest that you furl (pull it in) as far as you can, then pull it out as FAST AND HARD as you can. You should gain a little each time and It may take several repetitions but eventually it should come..

Good Luck

Any suggestions or guidance on in-mast furling? It appears that when the
mainsail was hauled in at the end of last season the last wrap doubled in on
itself. I made sure the boom lift is in proper position. I was able to tug on it
enough for a couple of feet to furl out but now can't get it to move either way.
thanks for any suggestions.

Again, I'm not sure that we're on the same page. The line going around the
worm gear is the furling/unfurling line. The halyard is only for raising and
lowering the sail. They are 2 separate lines and the length of either is not
dependent on the other.

That' s perfect. Yes.

I was concerned about how much line is taken up by winding around the worm gear.

From the sound of it, the 115 ft should leave enough extra length.

Thanks again.

No picture with your post but if I understand your question and am remembering
my setup correctly, mine has an eye splice that holds a shackle that attaches
to the sail. Once the sail is up, only the length of halyard from the mast head
to the exit point on the mast is left inside the mast. There is enough tension
on the halyard that I don't have any problem with rubbing or clanging.

Hope I understood you question correctly.

Thanks for the info.

My main halyard is just tied on and rubs on the inside of the mast. Does your
halyard have an eyesplice? See attached photo.

My boat has in-mast and is a 2008. The manual says 115' also. Nothing
mentioned about a difference for in-mast.

I need to replace my main halyard and have checked the C320 Manual on length,
which says it's 115 ft long. I have in mast furling and the question is whether
the 115 feet is correct for that or not. The manual I have doesn't have any info

on the in mast furling, so I don't know if the halyard length applied only to
the standard mast.

Does anyone have a manual that shows a different length or have insight in this
matter?

Fred
