If you go to "bill lowe photo gallery" on the website, I have posted a picture of the slots that need to be cleaned out and re-caulked. It is easy and inexpensive and frequently fixes leaks.

You don't have much to lose.

The photo was taken on my last boat, a Beneteau.

Subject: [C320-list] Lewmar port gasket replacement

All,

It's time to replace 2 of the gaskets on my Lewmar size 1 opening
ports. They are leaking and causing my interior to get wet when it
rains hard.

Have any of you embarked on this project, and are you willing to share
tips, tricks, special tools, gotchas, anything at all that will make
the job go smoothly? I have downloaded the instruction sheet from
http://www.catalinadirect.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=feature.display&feature_ID=100
but it is vague on exactly how to press the arrow shaped strip into the
retaining channel. Is it difficult, or does it pop in
easily?

I am ordering the gaskets from Catalina Direct part # Z2329.

I also need new adhesive to attach them. Is their Weatherstrip
adhesive part # Z2294 the correct stuff to use?

Any thoughts, tips, etc. would be great. I think I will document the
process with pictures and an article for the web site when I am done.

I also read the following article which leads me to believe it may not
be the gaskets after all. Would definitely appreciate some feedback!
