Jeff,

In a way, you are comparing apples to oranges, ie. replacing lead-acid
batteries with AGM's.
That's one reason they are priced at over twice what you were expecting,
Another is (well) WM.
Six seasons out of your old Seavolts is good performance actually since
they are a dual purpose battery (not true deep cycle).

Interstate batteries have been recommended on this list before,
specifically the 4D-XHD truck battery. It appears to have specifications
quite close to the old Seavolts.
The marine/RV variation is the SRM-4D and offers even more capacity.
According to their website, there are several dealers within 50 miles of
Dana Point that might carry them (around $200-225 each).
Check them out!!
