John, With a split back stay how do you install the riding sail/steadying sail?? I have
a backstay adjuster which further clutters the issue. I have used the topping lift line
to the boom end (vice back stay) to install a riding sail.

A riding sail is a surprisingly small triangle sail that is attached to the
aft stay using the mail halyard.

May I suggest that you go to www.sailrite.com and search for riding sail to
learn about it.
