one more thought.  on that volvo engine air was frequently found at the bleed screw on the filter after the lift pump during my diagnosis.

new pump solved it all

hello,  I had similar symptoms a few years back with volvo penta lift pump.  took me some time to diagnose.

I have a 1994 Perkins M30 with 975 engine hours. Ive replaced both primary and secondary fuel filters. Engine continues to stall but will immediately restart and run for a while (>30 min). sometimes it takes three or four attempts before it will keep running but once it does it runs a while. Im wondering if I may have a failing fuel lift pump. I believe it is the original 1994 pump. Would appreciate any input/advice.
