We used1/8 inch nylon line 4 years ago. Works fine. No issues.

Yes I did ... It is a little tight (of course).
I laid the old one out on the dock and carefully moved the blocks from
the old to the new. This preserved the length and location of the
blocks. This also helped the line unwind before we put it back up.
Sometimes the thing will twist up at the beginning of the season.
To do this, I took the monofilament out and left that with the
mainsail. I was careful to not drop the hardware into the drink.
After putting it back together, we went for a sail and tweaked the
Dutchman monofilament lengths.
So far, so good ...
Steve

Thanks Steve,
Did you bury the butt joint in one of the Dutchman clamps?

Hi Chris,
I replaced mine this year. I bought 80' of line. I had about 6' left
over when I was finished.
I was not at the boat this weekend, but I believe it was 1/4" line.

No, no...I'm not asking for the size of the monofilament line. I have
new line and sources.
I want to replace the double braid loop that attaches to the topping
lift an to which the the monofilament lines are clamped and is used to
adjust the mono. It is either 1/4" or 5/16" and I'm not sure how long
as well.
