I had to cut about 1/2 to 3/4 of an inch off each side of the plactic that covers teh ladder to make it fit.
When under way my seat stay on teh ladder and I use it as a back rest.
A friend of mine did the same thing.

Maybe since mine's newer 2002 they don't fit there anymore? Gotta picture?
