Don,
There is at least one step by step description of the procedure in the tech section of the website and one was posted on this list a few weeks ago and should be easy to find in the list archive. look for ‘chainplate’ as well as ‘chain plate’
It is not a bad project. The core needs to be sealed on early model hulls and if a PO of your hull has already done that, it is an easy project.

I have a leak in the upper shroud chain plate on the deck. I was wondering if anyone has re bedded this. I would like the do's and don'ts of this. I don't want to just remove the 4 machine screws without any idea of what might happen. Do i need to loosen the shrouds or mess with the stainless rod on the inside of the boat? Any advice would be helpful. I have a 1994 model. Thank you
