[C320-list] Waste Tank Question

Hi Bruce,
I think tank monitors are standard on Catalina's now. The last three boats I
bought (320/375) have all come with tank monitors. But they could have been
installed by the Australian distributor. I have my monitor on the instrument
panel, I flick a switch and it tells me how much is in each. Much easier and
quicker than removing cushions, pieces of board and doing a visual
inspection/tapping the side.
I would have thought that if you can smell your waste tank as full - it
really overtime to empty it. You dont want it overflowing....
I have never pumped my tanks, I just head offshore, and open the gravity
drain and feed the fish.
Cheers

Subject: Re: [C320-list] Waste Tank Question
I NEVER understood why tank monitors aren't standard equipt. We installed
the Sensa Tank 100. VERY easy install and comes woth everything to monitor 3
non-metallic tanks, I put the digital display right by the battery selector
switch and it does indeed look factory installed (get a Multi-Tool from
Harbor Freight to make the hole). Since it only draws power when you touch
the monitor I simply went with an inline fuse directly to Battery #1.
Seacoast Services was the cheapest I could find at the time at around $170.
It'll say it monitors 4 tanks but that's including the propane tank (extra
parts needed) which we didn't do. The sensors are stick on's so no drilling
the tanks and we monitor all 3 tanks for what many people pay to monitor 1.
Here is the link if you want to read about it.

My PO left me a poopsicle too! Gotta say I was surprised when I found it.
Sure am glad the tank and associated plumbing was not damaged!
Although I doubt seriously I would have bought a boat with a bilge full of
sewage. Yuk!
