[C320-list] Radio static

Don,
It sounds like something is amiss, maybe a missing or corroded ground? Are you able to try to isolate the problem by selectively turning off or disconnecting individual instruments?

I have a Icom hand held Vhf radio, and when I'm at the binnacle sailing and the instruments are on the radio has so much static it's unusable. I adjust the squelch and that doesn't help, if I move away from the binnacle then it works fine. Does anyone have any idea how I can shield the electronic noise from the binnacle to the radio? The boat is .a 1994 #165.
