lol, well this is getting fun to read.

Actually I have a mix of feelings on different locations.  My vessel, "Dawn Treader", was in Holland (Anchorage Marine) for many years - raced her successfully there and enjoyed cruising all over Lake Michigan.  Wonderful location.  Before that I had a slip in Mackinaw City - fun area too, but the drive got to be a pain.

I moved her to San Francisco (right on Fisherman's Wharf"), and I do enjoy it there too.  Cheaper storage and year round sailing are the big pluses.  It is certainly very different there than West Michigan, but I do enjoy it.  Plus I have a place to stay when consulting in that part of the world.  Fairly scenic area. Salt water is a pain, so you do have to be on top of that.

Having said that I am either moving "Dawn Treader" back to Holland OR buying another Catalina in West Michigan due to all my work in West Michigan.  I am torn between the two locations.  My guess is I will have a vessel back at Anchorage Marine in either early June or late August.  Then I will have both west coast's covered!
