[C320-list] replacing the Maxwell 500 windlass

Our windlass has died.  Most of the comparable or better horizontal
windlasses are designed be mounted on port (drum sticks out to the right so
it can't just be turned around and mounted on the old starboard mount).  I
imagine duplicating the existing mounting supports, etc except on the port
side of the chain locker should be sufficient.  Has anyone had experience
doing this?
