Jack,
Are there washout holes on the drum? There was an issue with the drums-they need to be washed out occasionally, and they didn't come with washout holes originally. Schaefer will replace the original drum (if it doesn't have the washout holes) at a big discount (I think they charge about $150 for the replacement).
