Geeze, Jim.  You had to bring up golf. Reminds me of the story about the guy
who was golfing with his wife during a lightning storm where his wife was
killed by a lightning strike. Later, on recanting the tale, a buddy asked
him how he dealt with it. The guy replied, "My game went to hell after that.
It was: hit the ball, drag Mable, hit the ball, drag Mable." 
Aren't you sorry you brought it up?  This is NOT an invitation to start a

A recent report of lightning deaths was a surprise to me. The activity most
associated with lightening deaths was fishing.-mostly in boats. I would have
guessed golf, which is one of the many reasons I don't golf.

On a serious note, while I am sure it has happened, I have never personally
heard of anyone getting nailed by a boat lightning strike.  I have heard of
many boats getting nailed and damaged but that is it.

Just curious, should you find yourself in the middle of a thunderstorm
where's the best place to be in case of a lightening strike, besides not on
the water.  Inside the cabin or on deck?
