No bearing. Just a fibreglass tube with a packing gland at the top. We are keeping the gland just snug. At some point in time the shaft tube will need a rebuild, but that is quite a lot of fantastic years down the way. There is a wear ring at the shaft head that may need to be replaced if it gets thin. 801, Cherie, Pat
