Thin wires are normally instrumentation (wind most likely, 5 wires).   The larger connector
is mast lighting......

At the base of the mast I have many wires; the easiest to identify being the
antenna coax. The others are a cluster of multi-coloured thin wires, and a
single hefty cable with a sturdy, four pin rectangular plug. From this
collection, which group represents the instruments and which the
deck/steaming/masthead lights?
