[C320-list] C320 racing discussion group

Denny, I mean no disrespect and forgive me for asking the obvious questions… but have members of the regular C320-list been complaining about a high volume of racing posts? Or do we have C320 racers out there that are yearning to share their experiences with other C320 owners but don't want to have to listen to the occasional post about which microwave fits the space or which hose to use to reduce head odor?

I think that most of us join the C320-list because we love sailing and love our C320's. I honestly can't think of too many race posts that wouldn't have at least a partial interest to anyone on the list. Likewise for most of the non-race posts. I know I have enough list subscriptions to keep up with as it is and would really prefer not to have to add another one to keep track of. If I have a question… I want to know that I can post it to one list and have any number of experts (John Hare are you listening?) chime in with some sage advice. Or, if I want to search archives for answers to a question I'm having, I would prefer to be able to go to just one archive.

After all… aren't many race problems just talking about ways to sail more efficiently and get the best performance out of our boat? Who doesn't want that?

As I said in the beginning… I mean no disrespect to your question, and if you do start something along these lines, I'll certainly shut up and be one of the first to join. I just think that the signal to noise ratio on many of these lists is already low because of all the "me too" replies that you get for every message with some meat. Feel free to count this message amongst the "noise" when calculating that current ratio...

It isn't of interest to most of us, but are there enough of us racing this boat that a separate discussion group would benefit? With new sails, folding prop, racing foil and a pretty good consistent crew, we've had some successes this year. Turns out, that's a lot of fun!
