Ade,
When I had my new (to me) boat surveyed last year, my surveyor said the exact same thing. He recommended getting a very inexpensive plastic container (he actually said Tupperware) and screw it onto the back of the panel to cover the connections. The point of the cover is to avoid being electrocuted if you open the AC panel while connected to shore power and you accidentally touch a connector.
