[C320-list] Cap on Racor

Hi Warren.

Your system may be different than mine. I’m referring to the white plastic cap on top of the Racor filter that unscrews to become a manual fuel pump. As far as I know, I don’t have a check valve or ball valve in the fuel inlet line. Maybe someone has found a small valve that attaches to the Racor fuel filter that would prevent all the contortions to reach the tank shut-off.

Sorry Chuck, but, the "cap" I refer to is between the pump and the hose from the tank. The pump is elevated above the frame. The cap is level with the surface of the frame. I believe there is a ball valve under it, the purpose of which appears to be to prevent back-flow of fuel through the filter. My memory is that someone suggested it could be used to stop the flow of fuel into the filter; but, I don't see how that function works.

Warren and Don - That?s a pump. Loosen the cap and use it for priming the engine. It is much more effective than the little lever on the fuel pump.

I'm remembering someone talking about a fuel shutoff on the top of the Racor
filter. The parts diagram shows what is listed as "Check Ball and Cap" on
the top between the fuel inlet and primer pump. On mine, it's a plastic cap
with a slot for a screwdriver. Perhaps by turning this the correct way (??)
the fuel can be shut off there. Anyone know about this?
