Jerry Taylor and his wife Donna did a simply marvelous job on planning and
executing the regatta. The Holiday Inn Conference Center was a wonderful
venue on the water. The related marina was a bargain at $1/ft.; and, the
facilities inside the hotel were clean and well appointed. The outside deck
surrounded by the hotel included a large pool and Tiki Bar. We cruised on
Saturday up the Patuxent River to St. Leonard's Creek for a look at Vera's
White Sands Marina and Resort: a bit of local color and tradition of a lady
and an age gone by. All in all, we didn't have much time to ourselves as the
Regatta program kept us busy meeting old friends and new people and putting
faces to the names on this list. Solomons is a boating town for sure with
the calm charm of an old waterman's village now geared-up for the tourist
trade. 

If you missed the Regatta, you missed a good time. I hope we don't have to
wait another 3 or 6 years.

The hats are a beautiful blue with the 320 logo and a crab in front. There
are still some left and for $12 +shipping, Allen Field will probably be
happy to send you one or a few. The Regatta was great fun.
